In 1995, Jenifer obtained her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida International University in South Florida with a 4.0 cumulative GPA & was the recipient of the School’s Academic Scholar Award. Following graduation, she moved to Orlando and began completing a 2,000+ hour post graduate externship under the supervision of another LCSW. After completing both her clinical and state laws exams in 1998, Jenifer became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker within the State of Florida in 1998, entitling her to practice independently as a psychotherapist.
Since moving to Orlando, she has had the opportunity to work with & learn from some of Central Florida’s most respected & knowledgeable clinicians & doctors in both the public & private sectors. This includes positions providing counseling services within the school system, outpatient mental health and supervising intern therapists. Jenifer began working part-time in private practice in the Office of Linda Tice, LCSW, then for over 5 years within the office of well-known Winter Park Psychiatrist, Dr. Jose Quinones, MD, & also as part of Family Focused Counseling in Winter Springs. In 2008, Jenifer decided to open her own independent private practice full-time in downtown Orlando & happily continues at the same location today.
Aside from the immense satisfaction that she receives when an individual has achieved their goals & are ready to leave her practice, Jenifer’s two proudest professional moments have been when she was selected from a national search for therapists to appear on Season Two of the critically acclaimed docuseries, “Obsessed”, which aired on A&E Television in 2010. She appeared on episodes One, Three & Five, helping individuals whose struggle with OCD & Anxiety had severely crippled their lives. The show’s goal was to educate the public regarding mental illness in hopes of removing the stigma that consists to exist & even more so, demonstrate how CBT can therapy can essentially help give people back their lives. The other professional accolade was when she was chosen to represent the show on Good Morning America in June 2010, in which she was interviewed by Robin Roberts for her expertise as a therapist treating anxiety & OCD.
On the personal side, Jenifer has been married for more than 20+years & is a mother to three children who continue to make her proud. She has been an active volunteer in many organizations over the years & several professional associations. She loves traveling, adventure, reading, listening to music, playing with her two dogs (but loves cats too!) & just spending time with family & friends I hope that this has given you a better sense of who I am personally & professionally. I welcome your calls & questions anytime.
